Yzerman joined CSH for its inaugural 2001 season as a high round selection of the Ottawa Senators.  After starting the 2002 season with the Sens, Yzerman was traded to the San Jose Sharks who then shipped Steve to the Edmonton Oilers for a final playoff shot.  The Oilers were defeated in the second round but through no fault of Yzerman who notched 11 points, including 2 game-winning goals, in the Oilers' run.  Yzerman is currently the head coach for the Ann Arbor Wolverines, the Detroit Red Wings' farm club.
