The first CSH All-Star Game was hosted in 2002 by the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Boston Bruins. The game is truly more of a series, a best of three contest between the top players from the Eastern and Western Conferences. In order to allow all 3 nominated goaltenders to play, a three games series was developed with the squads led by the coaches from the best team in each conference at the All-Star Break and the reserves for each squad are selected by the GMs leading the respective conferences at the time the starters are announced. Starting in the 2004 season, a second site is included to the All-Star Extravaganza to host the IJHL All-Star and CSH Young Stars games.
